Music Party is
designed for the younger children (ages 4-8) and is a 3 hour session trying
out a wide range of musical instruments plus plenty of noise, games and
action.
Music Party follows
a similar structure to the Activity Mornings but is designed specifically with
the younger ones in mind. After some games to get warmed up and for all
the children and the activity leader to get to know one another, we move on to
trying out all the different instruments we have at Cherry Pie, interspersed
with more games which build rhythm and aural skills. All the games
involve moving around, are very vocal and include a lot of interaction between
the children, helping to get them active, build confidence and put big smiles
on their faces.
In the second half
of the morning the children choose their favourite instruments and play
together as a band using the rhythm skills they've built during the first part
of the day. We record the band playing and also brief radio-style
interviews with each of our new young superstars to take home on CD.
Music Party is a
great fun experience and a fantastic introduction to music for smaller
children. Children will build on any musical experience they have
although absolutely none is necessary to take part and enjoy the session.
It's a great experience both for showing children how much fun music can be,
and also to test the water if you're interested in music lessons for your
child.
