Singing From Scratch - 1 day

If you answered YES to any of the above then this is the course for you!  A complete beginner's guide to singing, covering all the basics of vocal technique to enable you to sing out with confidence at every occasion.  You will be singing in a group in a relaxed, fun environment and nobody has to sing on their own.  The focus is on enjoyment whilst learning and everyone is welcome.

The Play Like The Pros evenings are designed for anyone with a basic knowledge on the guitar through to higher intermediate players.  Each evening concentrates on a different style of music and in a laid back and practical 3 hour session looks at the techniques, tips and tricks that give that style it's unique sound. 

The rock session looks at which notes, chords and scales to use to get the rock sound,  advanced rock techniques such as shredding, sweep picking, tapping and muting, a creative session on how to create powerful rock riffs and a chance to put it all into practice jamming together in a group.

The sessions are intense and immensely practical, with enough material to keep you busy for months afterwards.  It's also fun and laid back, so come and enjoy yourself with a guitar evening at Cherry Pie!

The Play Like The Pros evenings are designed for anyone with a basic knowledge on the guitar through to higher intermediate players.  Each evening concentrates on a different style of music and in a laid back and practical 3 hour session looks at the techniques, tips and tricks that give that style it's unique sound. 

The blues session covers the different blues structures, scales and chords that give blues it's feel and lets you create powerful and emotive blues playing.  It goes on to look at bottleneck guitar and how to create the Ry Cooder style sound, a workshop session on writing a great blues solo, and fingerpicking and acoustic blues.

In the jazz session we look at advanced chord voicings, chord extensions and exotic scales and modes which create the jazz sound, and how jazz musicians adapt and change the written music to play in various jazz styles.  You'll learn how to use and develop a groove by playing with other people in the group, play classic jazz standards - the songs that no jazz musician can afford not to know! - and learn about jazz improvisation with an improvisation workshop adapted to fit your standard.

The Play Like The Pros evenings are designed for anyone with a basic knowledge on the guitar through to higher intermediate players.  Each evening concentrates on a different style of music and in a laid back and practical 3 hour session looks at the techniques, tips and tricks that give that style it's unique sound. 

In the acoustic session we look at acoustic technique and how to create exciting rhythms and grooves on the acoustic guitar.  We look separately at playing with a pick and fingerpicking, and how to embellish and develop chords and patterns to create interesting grooves that sound great!  There's also plenty of tricks and tips on how to sound like a pro.
