Chris started Cherry Pie in 2003 and runs it with Tom. Chris first started teaching whilst working for a music shop as a teenager. He worked there full time for a year, teaching piano and guitar, and was trained as a teacher. Chris also gained valuable experience working with children, and was trained on a wide range of instruments to be able to demonstrate and sell all the wide range of instruments in the shop. Chris earned a degree in music from Brunel University and for the next few years split his time playing with bands, teaching privately and working part-time with disabled children and teenagers excluded from school. Chris's band completed two UK tours and one in Finland and also appeared on a TV advert! In 2003 Chris started Cherry Pie Music. The school gradually built, starting in just a small part of the building it now occupies. In 2005 Chris built walls to restructure the downstairs of Cherry Pie to add the recording studio, and in 2006 Tom Mc joined Chris as a business partner.
