Music Courses and Group Lessons in January 2012
We are very excited to announce to launch of some of our brand new music courses and group lessons. These new courses are designed to be a different experience to our one to one lessons, offering a range of different instrument and singing groups aimed specifically at particular ages or abilities. Singing From Scratch is a course for adult beginners in the basics of singing technique and practise. Starting on Monday 9th January 2012, these courses will be running on: Mondays at 8pm; Tuesdays at 7pm and 8pm; Saturdays at 3.30pm 'Rockschool' Graded Guitar Courses cover the syllabus of the 'Rockschool' electric guitar grades, teaching the techniques, theory and practise necessary to sit the graded exams. Dubut (Children) - Thursdays at 6pm, starting Thursday 12th January Grade 1 (ages 12 +) - Thursdays at 7pm, starting Thursday 12th January Debut (Adults) - Thursdays at 8pm, starting Thursday 12th January Kick Start Singing is aimed specifically at young children at the beginning of their musical education. It incorporates simple vocal exercises, musical games and fun inspiring songs to develop musicality, aural skills and confidence in singing. Taught in a fun group environment, this course is ideal for children who either want to gain confidence in singing, complement their one to one instrument lessons or to simply enjoy a fun recreational activity. Saturdays at 1pm, starting Saturday 14th January 2012 Teenage Pop Vocals is particularly suited to older children and teenagers who want to learn to sing modern repertoire and gain useful qualifications, as well as being in a fun sociable environment. The course teaches everything needed to work towards the Grade 3 Pop Vocals examination (London College of Music), including a variety of different styles of singing including pop, rock, jazz and blues, as well as aural skills, musical knowledge and vocal technique. Monday evenings at 7.15pm, starting Monday 9th January 2012 Recorder Group is suitable for both complete beginners and children who have been playing the recorder for a little while. The recorder is a very popular way to get young children started with their musical training, and due to its simplicity an ideal first instrument. In addition to teaching the recorder this class will cover music reading and basic aural skills. Tuesdays at 5:30pm, starting Tuesday 10th January 2012

Cherry Pie Music Spring Term Student Concerts 2012
This term's Cherry Pie Music student concerts will be held on Saturday 31st March at a different venue - The Trinity United Reform Church on Mansel Road in Wimbledon. If you are a regular performer, a recently joined student, or a proud parent or friend, these concerts have a huge variety of acts, giving our musicians the chance to put practise into performance in front of a live audience. Cherry Pie Music Concerts are open to all students of the school to perform in, so if you would like to step up to the challenge and show off your new skills, please speak to us as soon as possible about getting involved.
Music Exams Cherry Pie Music is now an official ABRSM and Rockschool exam centre. This means you can sit your classical and modern graded exams here with us in the familiar surroundings of the school. Rockschool offer exams in electric guitar and bass, drums, keyboard, and pop singing.
