Teenagers' Rock Workshop and Jam Session
The Teenagers' Rock Workshop and Jam Session is a fun and exciting activity open to anyone aged 12-19. Come and rock out at Cherry Pie Music every Sunday morning, learn to play the music of your favourite bands and play with other musicians in a real band setting with the help and guidance of our expert staff, all experienced gigging rock musicians.
It doesn't matter what instrument you play as we can incorporate anything into the programme, although you will need to have mastered the basics. If you're not sure whether you're ready, just contact us to find out! The Rock Workshop and Jam Session runs every Sunday morning from 10.30-12.30 and costs £5 per session. If it's your first time you can come for a free taster session to see how you like it.
During each session we work on contemporary rock songs picked by the participants. We teach the different parts (guitar, drums etc) to everyone and then work on playing them together as a band. At the moment we're working on Kings of Leon: Use Somebody, Lynard Skynard: Sweet Home Alabama, and Muse:Hysteria.
We're also be forming bands from the sessions to play at Cherry Pie Concerts and other local gigs and events. We plan to get everyone who joins the sessions out there playing live as part of a real band. If you're interested in playing as part of a band or just want to have some serious fun, you can't afford to miss these sessions!
The Teenagers' Rock Workshop and Jam Session takes place every Sunday morning from 10.30am - 12.30pm. Places are strictly limited so if you've never been before please email us to check whether we have spaces for your instrument.
