Here's an outline of the sort of things we can achieve at Cherry Pie. Hopefully this should answer the most basic questions you might have about how the studio works. The list is by no means exhaustive, so if you're not sure, just ask! We're here to help you achieve your goal, not to tell you that it can't be done, and most things can be done!

Recording

We offer a comprehensive recording service, ready to cut just about whatever tracks you can imagine. We can record ten simultaneous tracks at a time (though this number will be going up soon) at 24bit 96kHz (that's super high in non-techy speak). So whether you want to put a vocal to a pre recorded backing track, or record a 6 piece rock band live, we can make it happen.
Check out the live room for details of the instruments and equipment you can use during your session, but of course you're more than welcome to bring your own gear along, from drum kits to guitar amps.

Mixing

Once you've recorded your tracks, we can mix, produce and process your music however you want it. If you're a budding producer and want to fiddle with the buttons yourself, that's possible, or if you want to oversee an engineer and tell them what you want to hear that's definitely possible. We are also very happy to mix and process your tracks for you "out of hours" at a reduced rate, and you can come and tweak them afterwards. We have an array of effects available including the ability to retune that one flat note in the otherwise perfect take, retune a whole track, make you sound like cher, or put you on the stage at Wembley Arena. Mastering

Mastering is the process of "finishing" tracks for a specific medium, and in the case of an album, helping all the tracks to fit together as a hole, as well as maximising quality and usually loudness. We offer a limited mastering service, that will be fine for any projects not looking to sell more than a thousand copies. If your project is of a larger scale then we recommend taking our finished mixes to a specialist mastering studio for this last stage in the production.

Copying and Media Transfer

We also offer a budget media transfer service. So whether you've just a got a music collection on cassette and you want it on CD, or you have an irreplaceable vinyl you need backing up digitally, we can help.

Parties

Party time!! At Cherry Pie we are in a fairly unique position of being able to host parties, in the past this has included kids parties and even office christmas parties. The plan is basically you choose a song, and we record you singing it! Everyone gets a mixed CD to take home, and a generally great and unforgettable party experience.
