 Edwin – Singing (Classical)

Edwin

Edwin Mansfield has worked as a professional musician since graduating from Trinity College of Music. As a performer Edwin works with many of the UK’s opera companies and recent credits have included Opera Holland Park’s summer seasons, Raymond Gubbay’s Carmen at the O2 and playing the title role in Opera Anywhere’s tour of The Mikado. He regularly sings with many of London’s professional church choirs and has toured with The Armonico Consort.

As a teacher Edwin has taught piano and singing in several state, private and theatre schools throughout London and beyond. He is currently vocal teacher at St Christopher’s prep school and Carshalton Boys school. Through his work both privately and with theatre schools he has had students gain leading roles in musicals, operas and progress to further musical training such as The Brit School. With a strong interest in vocal pedagogy Edwin is frequently asked to write articles for Rhinegold Publishings industry magazines.

Edwin firmly believes that singing should be fun and actively encourages his students to discover new types of music and use the skills learnt in lessons to seek out new repertoire and become involved with ensembles and choirs.
