Merrilyn – Singing (Musical Theatre, Classical, Pop)
Merrilyn Greer holds two undergraduate degrees (in classical music performance and drama, respectively) which is further complimented by a Masters in Teaching – Performing Arts (Middle and Secondary). In July 2014 she completed the one-year Musical Theatre Intensive Programme at the American Musical Theatre Academy of London which concluded with her playing the lead in the end of year musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. She is an accomplished performer who has worked for The State Opera of South Australia, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of South Australia as well as forming, directing and producing shows within the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Cabaret Fringe Festival. In 2014 she formed the vintage singing trio The Misfit Sugar Dames who perform regularly around London.
Merrilyn Greer has worked as a tutor, providing tuition in music, music theory and acting for the past 13 years. In addition she has worked as a specialist music theatre, drama and dance teacher within public and private schools, academies and nurseries in Australia and London. She teaches singing, piano and harp in a variety of styles ranging from classical to music theatre, pop and jazz. She has held a number of roles in children’s theatre schools, where she taught classes in music, drama, dance, singing and was also responsible for the planning and delivery of school holiday programs.
