We do lots of
positive work with Pupil Referral Units, Special Educational Departments and
excluded students. We have staff who are trained and experienced in
working with emotional/behavioural disorders and excluded young people and are
able to maintain mutual respect and a positive and participative environment.
With our work with
PRUs and excluded young people our focus is on staying in step with the
desires of the young people and empowering them to take a hands-on approach
from the start in the areas that they are most interested. We help them
build skills throughout the session or project by teaching and coaching in the
skills that are useful and directly relevant to what they are trying to
achieve, allowing participants to build self-esteem and confidence in what
they're doing and their own ability to create and to improve their skills.
Work with excluded
young people often focuses on the recording studio as this is usually their
main area of interest. Our setup allows them to sit in the producers
chair and take a hands-on, self-directed approach right from the start.
Our expert staff are always on hand to guide, supervise, make suggestions and
teach and coach in constructive new skills from sound engineering, production,
instrumental ability and so on.
