Roberto Benavides is a guitarist, music educator, composer and musical director from Brazil, with over 25 years of professional experience. He began playing guitar at the age of 11 and went on to develop a career as a professional guitarist and teacher, studying with Eduardo Ardanuy at EM&T in São Paulo. His musical background encompasses rock, blues, pop, Brazilian music and fusion, with a strong focus on rhythm and lead guitar, music theory, composition and arranging.

Roberto has extensive teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced and professional musicians. He has taught in music schools, private settings and online, working with students internationally. Alongside teaching, he has performed in over 2,000 live shows across Brazil, including substantial work with FS Produções Artísticas. He has recorded and produced his own rock fusion EP and is currently working on his first album. He holds a BMus in Popular Music Performance with First Class Honours, having studied with guitarist and educator John Wheatcroft, and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree.
