Giuseppe 2 (4) From Bari, southern Italy, Giuseppe Grondona started playing drums at the age of six.  He gained his degree and master degree in drums and percussion at the Conservatory of Music “Niccolò Piccinni”.

Giuseppe performed as a contemporary percussionist at New York University and in Paris and  with some of the most famous Italian orchestras and has toured and recorded as a drummer throughout Italy. He has performed with household names such as Tormento (Sottotono) and shared the same stage with Coolio, Simply Red, Erik Clapton, Pink and many others.

In 2005 Giuseppe decided to move to London where he began to teach at Tech Music School. Since then he has played with colleagues such as Bosco De Olivera, Femi Temowo, Simon Carter, Svetlana Vassileva, Annabel Williams, John Wheatcroft and Andrew McKinney, with whom he performed at ‘UK Bass Day” in Manchester in 2009. In the same year Giuseppe played in the band performing in the movie “Nine”, inspired by Federico Fellini’s “8 ½” and directed by Rob Marshall.

As drum tutor Giuseppe writes and teaches degree level courses and he is often involved in masterclasses, including alongside the legendary bassist TM Stevens. In 2012 he performed with the Maurizio Grondona Group in Los Angeles in two prestigious and international music events, the exclusive rooftop concert “Thursday Night Vibe” produced in conjunction with 94.7 The Wave Smooth Jazz Radio Station, and the “Los Angeles International Indie-Music/Film Summit 2012.
